Welcome to the official forums for the Order of the White Lion (TWL). This post will explain what our guild is about, and help you decide if we are the right place for you!

We expect anyone who joins our guild to be aware of our policies. Warnings are few and far between and we won't hesitate to remove members that cause problems. TWL is first and foremost about friends and we hope that you'll enjoy being a part of our family!

Introduction to The White Lions
The White Lions was created by three real life family members: Flikenduil, his wife Wenaeleyn (as of April 2006) and his brother Brelgnir. The driving force behind this guild is friendship and family. We believe in playing the game for fun! We are a casual group, but we're serious about the game as well. We've made it a habit to get alot done in a small amount of time, and have tons of fun doing it. Those who have been in the guild awhile have come to appreciate our style and continue to support our casual atmosphere. At the same time, however, we do maintain a mature level of behavior and conversation in our guild and as such, we do not invite players under the age of 18. We are not on a role playing server, but the guild leaders will certainly not discourage it if you wish to role play your character!

With the release of Wrath of the Lich King, we have found our niche in 10 man raiding. We are comfortable doing 10 man dungeons and have no desire to expand into 25 man raiding. We expect our members to respect this idea and help make our 10 man raiding the best it can be. Since January of 2006, we have been joined in our raiding adventures by our allies in the guild The Pretend Heroes. We raid twice a week for 3 hours a night. We do have a few rules that we expect our members to abide by when it comes to raiding with us.

Member Code of Conduct
All members will be expected to adhere to this code. The ideas of Honor, Loyalty, Duty and Virtue are very important to the guild's founders in real life as well as in game.

Honor
Honor is one of the most important tenets of the guild. All members are expected to demonstrate a high degree of respect towards fellow guild members and other alliance players. Your behavior represents the guild.

Loyalty: Be true to the Order
Be loyal and truthful to the guild. Split alliances are not allowed! You will be required to bring all of your characters, alts and all, into our guild. Members who choose to leave the guild are re-invited only in extremely rare cases, so don't count on it. Additionally, we have a very close friendship with our pals in The Pretend Heroes (TPH); therefore we will not accept former TPH members into our WoW guild, and they do the same for us. If you aren't good enough for TPH, you aren't good enough for us!

Duty: Serve the Order
Make regular contributions to the guild, and maintain a reasonably active status. TWL does not allow members to skip guild raids in favor of raiding with other guilds.

Virtue: Fight the good fight!
Help the weak and downtrodden and smite the wicked! Render aid to other players when possible, whether fellow guild members or not. Remember that everything you do represents this guild as a whole. Never misrepresent the Order!

It's a game!
Remember WoW is just a game, and it should be fun! The Order understands real world commitments and expects members to deal with these before any of the guild's needs. Be respectful and understanding of other members' commitments. Most of all, have fun!

Raid Guidelines
You must follow these rules to be allowed to participate in the Guild Raids.

1. Get Ventrilo
You must have vent. A microphone is not required, but listening is! Our vent server is for members of TWL and TPH only. Exceptions can be made, but you must contact Leahan for permission.

2. Be On Time and Be Prepared!
Raids begin promptly at 8pm server time. Invites begin at 7:45pm and players should be in the instance by 7:55pm. Raids end at 11pm server time. If you know ahead of time that you are going to be late, inform the raid leader or an officer so that we know what's going on.

Bring all required reagents and consumables for a full raid night. The raid leader has the option to replace members that are not prepared.

3. Raid Composition Comes First
In order to sign up for a raid, you will need to create an account at Raidar. Each week, the raid leader will post a link to the raid signups for the week. Our first concern when drafting will be raid composition.

4. Listen to the Raid Leader! No Chatter in Vent!
We all have fun chatting with our fellow players. This is fine in moderation. During strategy explanations, boss fights, or other complicated pulls, the Raid Leader should be the only one talking.

5. Class Roles
Be well versed in all aspects of your class. Even though TWL never forces players into a certain spec, there might be times when a dpser needs to heal or a tank needs to dps. Take the time to research the various specs and ability rotations of your class.

Elitist Jerks is commonly considered the best site for class information. We expect our members to stay up to date from patch to patch on changes to their class.

Looting Rules
The White Lions uses a "Need Before Greed" looting method that has served us very well for the past five years. Non guild members that might be along for our runs will also be allowed to roll under the same set of rules.

1. One Item Per Run
This is very simple. During one raid, you get to roll and win one item. Later in the run you may receive additional items if nobody else wants it.

2. Main Spec before Offspec
You must declare a main spec for rolling purposes. Priority will always be given to a main spec roll over an offspec roll. This includes giving multiple items to the same player for their main spec.

3. Sharded Items
Items will only be sharded if no player is interested. All shards will be divided between TWL and TPH equally and stored in the guild bank. Members are welcome to ask an officer for enchanting mats.

4. Profession Specific Items
Recipes may only be rolled on by members of the raid that have that profession. (This is not as common currently, but still applies if it comes up.)

5. Relax!
We raid two nights every week. There will be plenty of gear drops (and emblems) for everyone in due time! We are very generous in handing out loot to those who need upgrades, so just be patient! TWL does not tolerate loot whores or greed.

That is all. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the GM (Wenaeleyn) or one of our officers (Windshield, Ramthorn, and Leahan) in game.

The Guild Rules have been updated. If you haven't read them in awhile, it might be a good idea to refresh your memory. We simply made some changes to update the rules to the current game and remove some stuff that no longer applies.
